Cruisin’ for a Cure Omaha: Where Classic Cars Help Save Men’s Lives

What do classic cars and prostate cancer awareness have in common? More than you might think.

Each year, the Nebraska Prostate Cancer Alliance hosts Cruisin’ for a Cure, bringing together car enthusiasts from across the Midwest for a day filled with beautiful vehicles, family fun, and an important mission: saving men’s lives.

The event offers free PSA blood tests for men over 40 while raising awareness about prostate cancer and the importance of early detection.

More Than Just a Car Show

From vintage muscle cars to custom builds and motorcycles, Cruisin’ for a Cure has become one of Omaha’s most popular automotive events.

But the real attraction isn’t what’s under the hood.

It’s the opportunity for men to receive a free PSA blood screening that could identify prostate cancer before symptoms develop.

Breaking the Stigma

Many men avoid talking about their health.

Some put off annual checkups.

Others assume they’re fine because they feel healthy.

Cruisin’ for a Cure helps change that conversation by making prostate cancer awareness approachable, welcoming, and community-focused.

The event reminds men that taking care of themselves is just as important as taking care of their families.

One Simple Blood Test

A PSA screening requires only a small blood sample and takes just minutes.  If results are elevated, it doesn’t necessarily mean cancer. It simply means additional evaluation with a healthcare provider may be recommended. Finding prostate cancer early often leads to better treatment options and improved survival.

Everyone Can Make a Difference

Whether you register a vehicle, volunteer, sponsor the event, or simply attend, every participant helps spread awareness and support free PSA testing throughout Nebraska.

Together, we’re helping more men get screened, start conversations, and take charge of their health.

Join us this year at Cruisin’ for a Cure in Omaha, Sunday, September 20th from 12 pm – 3 pm at Centris Federal Credit Union 13120 Pierce Street Omaha NE and help drive the fight against prostate cancer.
