A Car Show With a Life-Saving Mission

We are a nonprofit devoted to raising awareness of prostate cancer and providing free PSA tests. The mission is simple and two-fold: give every man over 40 a free, no-pressure PSA blood test, and replace the stigma around prostate cancer with plain, honest education. Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers in men, and early detection saves lives.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

How was Cruisin’ for a Cure Omaha founded?

Cruisin’ for a Cure Omaha was founded in 2011, inspired by the original California Cruisin’ for a Cure car show. It began as a way to give local men free PSA tests and to raise awareness of prostate cancer, and it has grown into an annual Omaha tradition.

What is the mission of Cruisin’ for a Cure Omaha?

The mission is two-fold: provide free PSA testing throughout the show for men over 40, and offer plain-language education that takes away the stigma of prostate cancer. All net proceeds benefit the Nebraska Prostate Cancer Alliance.

Is the PSA test really free, and who can get one?

Yes. The PSA test is a free, simple blood draw available to every man over 40 at the show. No insurance is required, and results are kept private. Signing up early through the Early PSA Signup Form is encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome.

What is the biggest challenge?

The biggest challenge is overcoming denial and encouraging men to take the test. Caught early, prostate cancer is highly treatable, so we work to make testing easy, free, and welcoming.
